Super Device 2.0

N82 Front

Nokia N82

Nokia introduces another “multimedia computer” (their nickname for the Nokia Nseries) with N82. The specifications is similar to N95, with several newly improved features and adoption of flashy candy-bar design.N82 boast a 5 megapixel camera (can also capture VGA MPEG-4 video clips at 30fps) coupled with Carl Zeiss lens and xenon flash (finally!), support for auto rotation ala iPhone and iPod Touch, and A-GPS for better navigation.

The 2,4 inch screen may not as big as N95, but I think the main drawer here is the exquisite candybar design. Some people that I know feel the sliding action of N95 is not that good, and that’s keeping them from getting the N95. That kind of design preferences won’t happen to N82 since candy-bar design still proves to be the mainstream.

Off to Bali: What to bring?

beach in Bali
I’m having a workshop tomorrow for 3 days and 2 nights in Bali. That’s the beach in the picture. In case you haven’t been to Bali, it’s the most wonderful place on Earth. At least for me since I’ve never been out from Asia. :) There are no tall buildings, since they are prohibited. The sky is very blue and very clear, almost any time of the year, since there are only dry season and rainy season.

Anyhow, I’m a little bit confused on what to bring during my workshop-vacation thing. :) more…

Sony Rolly’s Specifications

Ok, our soon-to-be-beloved music buddy may cost a lot, but hey, that’s what entertainment is all about. We squander our hard-earned money to get non-long-lasting fun. That’s the way it is and (hopefully not) will always be.
Anyhow, here’s the specifications of Rolly, should you have any doubt to get it. :)

Do we really need big screen TV, Err… Phones

In the world where bigger means better, nothing beats television as the best example of it. Nowadays, people won’t even take a glance at something less than 25” LCD TV, in retrospect, when I was a kid, 14” fat CRT TV was all the craze. With mobile phones now becoming more of a multimedia device, does the term bigger means better also applies?

Various Sony Rolly’s videos

To complete the Sony Rolly’s hype and give a better glimpse at the musical robot (I don’t think we can classify that as an MP3 player), here’s several videos showcasing the dancing, singing, and expensive MP3 player + capsule robot.

One Day with Sony Alpha 700

Sony Alpha 700Just before Christmas, I have the opportunity to toy with the new Sony Alpha 700. The Sony guys were kind enough to brought so many lenses, ranging from 17-85mm Carl Zeiss, 300mm Carl Zeiss, 85mm Sony, and many more. I think they brought almost a dozen lenses. There were 12 people that were invited to test the Alpha 700, divided into two groups. So everyone can pick their own lens and even switched it.

We went photo-huntingi n Puncak, near the tea plantation up on the slope. Appararently, Sony Indonesia had prepared the schedule and destination for our photo-hunt, Melrimba Garden. I never went there by myself actually, so it’s pretty exciting. Turned out that more…
